experience
Bonnie Sue is Committed to Clay County. During her 18 years as a
State Representative, she served on several important House committees,
including Budget, Appropriations, Commerce, and Economic Development,
bringing money and jobs back to our community. As a Kansas City
Councilwoman for 8 years, she helped small business owners create local
jobs by expanding their business globally, and played key roles in the
revitalization of the Liberty Memorial, the City Market and the Broadway
Bridge corridor.
integrity
Bonnie Sue's only special interest is the citizens of Clay County.
She has won the respect of both Reublicans and Democrats for taking
tough stands on fiscal policy and demanding accountability from those
who serve in government. Her reputation of honesty and ethical conduct,
together with her unique ability to create opportunities by developing
the right relationships, is the shot in the arm Clay County needs.
accountability
Over the past four years, Clay County's budget has increased by
$19 million, property taxes have skyrocketed, and Clay County citizens
have paid the price. Meanwhile, some County officials voted to levy
taxes after voters said "no," continued to grant themselves annual
raises, and worked when they felt like it. With Bonnie Sue, there will
be no surprises. She will take her responsibilities as a public
official seriously, and she will do her best to NEVER embarrass the
people of Clay County!
